The new version of the bill changes the end date for the current fee structure from June 30, 2026, to August 28, 2026. This means that the current allocation of funds—where the first million dollars collected goes to the state general revenue and any excess funds go to the water patrol division—will continue for an additional two months. This extension allows for more time to collect revenues that support water patrol services, ensuring better funding for safety and maintenance on the lakes until the end of August 2026.
