The recent amendment to Bill HB 2061 introduces important changes regarding the reporting of complaints related to discrimination and harassment in educational institutions. It adds protections for political or religious speech by stating that complaints solely containing such expressions will not be reported or published by the coordinating board for higher education. Additionally, educational institutions are prohibited from creating databases based on students' political or religious views. These changes are significant because they ensure that free speech rights are upheld while still addressing antisemitic discrimination and harassment within educational settings.
