Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 2195 changes the terminology from "driver education instruction and training" to simply "driver education instruction" to streamline the language. Additionally, the requirements for course topics have been simplified, allowing school districts to include safe driving lessons in a broader context, without mandating hands-on vehicle operation. These changes aim to make driver education more accessible and flexible, emphasizing the importance of safe driving instruction without the need for in-vehicle training. This matters because it could encourage more schools to participate in the program, thereby improving overall driver safety among students.
