Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill SB 469 removes the provision that allowed retired officers to be included in the law enforcement definition. This change means that only currently employed officers will be recognized under this section, which could impact how various law enforcement entities qualify for certain regulations and responsibilities. This matters because it may affect the scope of authority and support available to retired officers who previously held these positions.
