Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill SB 293 simplify the definition of "artificial intelligence" by replacing a detailed technical description with a more straightforward term. This matters because it makes the bill more accessible and easier to understand for the general public, ensuring that the implications and regulations surrounding artificial intelligence are clear. Additionally, certain categories of educational institutions have been retained in the definition of "institutions of higher education," which is crucial for ensuring comprehensive coverage under the bill's provisions.
