RequiresahealthcareprovidertoprovideemergencycontraceptionandHIVand STI post-exposure prophylaxis to all survivors of sexual assault.
Presentlawprovidesthatasurvivorofsexualassaultmust beprovidedwithanymedication duringtheforensicmedicalexamination,includingemergencycontraceptionandHIVorSTI prophylaxis.
Proposed law modifies present law requiringthe healthcare provider to provide HIV or STI post-exposure prophylaxis administered according to the Drug Information Handbook during the forensic medical exam.
