Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 96 includes the addition of specific senators and representatives' names supporting the bill. This change emphasizes the bipartisan support for the "Fallen Heroes" prestige license plate initiative, which aims to honor fallen law enforcement officers and raise funds for protective gear like bulletproof vests. The measure still requires an extra fee for the plates, which will aid in funding necessary equipment for peace officers in Louisiana. This expansion of support and clarity in funding helps reinforce the importance of community safety and recognition of service members.
