Establishes a priority preference for persons in extended foster care pursuant to present law in the purchase of surplus state vehicles.
Present law grants the commissioner of administration control over surplus state property.
Establishes a priority order of preference for acquisition of state surplus property that is authorized for disposition.
Generally, that order is:
(1) Other state agencies.
(2) Politicalsubdivisions,privateelementary,secondary,orproprietaryschools;housing authorities;
and independent colleges and universities.
(3) Charitable, educational, or religious organizations.
(4) Private persons, firms, or corporations.
Forsurpluscomputerequipment,presentlawestablishesafirstprioritypreferenceforpublic elementary and secondary schools and community and technical colleges under the management and control of the Board of Supervisors of La.
Community and Technical Colleges.
For surplus state vehicles, proposed law establishes a first priority preference for persons participating in the extended foster care program established pursuant to present law (R.S.
46:288.1 et seq).
