Provides relative to eligibility for an actuariallyreduced retirement benefit.
Present law provides for eligibility for retirement in the Sheriffs' Pension and Relief Fund (SPRF) for anyone whose membership begins on or after January 1, 2012.
Provides that a member is eligible to retire if the member:
(1) Has 12 or more years of creditable service and has attained the age of 62.
(2) Has 20 or more year of creditable service and has attained the age of 60.
(3) Has 30 or more years of creditable service and has attained the age of 55.
Present lawprovidesthatanySPRF memberwhohas 12 or more years of creditableservice and who separates from service before attaining the minimum age required for regular retirement eligibility shall be entitled to a deferred retirement beginning when the member attains regular retirement age.
Presentlawspecifiesthatthemembershallbepaidthesameamounthewouldhavereceived had he retired while in service.
PresentlawprovidesthatanSPRFmemberwhosefirstemploymentmakinghimeligiblefor membership in the system began on or after Jan.
1, 2012, who is eligible for deferred retirement and is over 50 years of age with at least 20 years of creditable service mayelect to take, in lieu of deferred retirement, the actuarial equivalent of the benefit due had the member attained age 60.
