Creates the Parkview Oaks Crime Prevention and Improvement District in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Proposed law creates the Parkview Oaks Crime Prevention and Improvement District as a political subdivision in East Baton Rouge Parish to aid in crime prevention, to enhance security within the district, to provide for an increase in securitypatrols in the district, and to provide for the overall betterment of the district.
Provides for the boundaries of the district.
Proposed law provides that the district is governed by a seven-member board of commissioners composed as follows:
(1) Four members appointed by the board of directors of the Parkview Oaks Civic Association (association).
(2) One member appointed by the member of the La.
House of Representatives whose district encompasses all or the greater portion of the area of the district.
(3) OnememberappointedbythememberoftheLa.Senatewhosedistrictencompasses all or the greater portion of the area of the district.
(4) One member appointed by the member of the governing authority of East Baton Rouge Parish whose council district encompasses all or the greater portion of the area of the district from a list of nominations submitted by the association.
Proposed law provides that members serve four-year staggered terms.

Authorizes the district to enter into an agreement with the tax collector to authorizeretention of an annual collection fee,not toexceed1%oftheamountcollected.
Proposed law requires the district's board to adopt an annual budget in accordance with present law (R.S.
39:1301 et seq.) and provides that the district shall be subject to audit by the legislative auditor.
Proposed law provides that it is the purpose and intent of proposed law that any additional law enforcement personnel and services provided for through the fees authorized by proposed law shall be supplemental to, and not in lieu of, personnel and services provided in the district by publicly funded law enforcement agencies.
Further provides that if the district ceases to exist, funds, equipment, and propertyof the district shall be transmitted to the city of Baton Rouge, parish of East Baton Rouge to be used only for purposes of the district.
