Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to SB 1531 include the addition of language that clarifies what items are still allowed under the bill, specifically mentioning that disposable food containers made from polystyrene foam can still be manufactured for sale outside Illinois. This change matters because it provides exemptions for certain products, which may help businesses that rely on these materials to operate without restriction. Additionally, the amendment outlines the penalties for violations of the act, assigning fines for repeat offenses, which aims to enforce compliance and protect the environment.
