Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill HB 2435 clarify the definitions of terms like "automatic telephone dialing system" and "emergency telephone number," which helps ensure everyone understands the context of the law. It specifically bans unsolicited sales calls made using automated systems unless the individual has given clear consent, which must be renewed annually. These changes matter because they aim to protect consumers from intrusive telemarketing practices and ensure they have control over how and when they are contacted.
