The recent changes to House Bill 5574 extend the deadline for the Commissioner of Administrative Services to convey a parcel of land to the town of Hamden from June 30, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Additionally, if the state grants a six-month extension to this deadline, Hamden must reimburse the state for any associated costs. This amendment is important because it gives Hamden more time to secure the land, which is significant for local development, while also ensuring the state recovers its costs if delays occur.
