Plain-language change summary

The amended Bill HB 5500 now allows municipal water pollution control authorities to forgive or refund interest on delinquent sewerage system charges specifically for common interest communities with over 500 units, but only if those communities are under court receivership. Previously, the bill referred to municipal property taxes and had a more general application. This change is significant as it targets financial relief to larger communities facing financial distress, helping them manage their debts better during challenging times.
