The latest version of Senate Bill 371 includes an explanation of its fiscal impact and specifies that it will incur a minimal cost of up to $10,000 for the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection in the upcoming fiscal year. This change is important because it provides transparency about the potential expenses associated with the bill, allowing lawmakers and the public to understand how it may affect state finances. The previous version did not include this detailed fiscal analysis, making it harder to gauge the bill's financial implications.
