Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Senate Bill 282 makes a few important changes to how municipal committees care for wartime veterans' graves. It clarifies that the chief executive in each town must appoint a committee of three veteran citizens to ensure the graves are properly maintained. Additionally, it specifies that if the costs for maintaining these graves aren't covered by private donations or cemetery trustees, the town will cover them and can allocate funds for that purpose. This matters because it ensures that veterans' graves receive the care they deserve while also providing a clear financial pathway for towns to support this important responsibility.
