The updated version of SB 1446 expands the focus of clinical rotations to include neurological care, in addition to obstetrics, pediatrics, and cardiovascular care. It also specifies that grants for these rotations can be funded through various partners, such as anesthesia provider groups or directly through healthcare institutions, and sets a cap on indirect costs at twenty percent. This matters because it potentially increases the number of training opportunities for nurse anesthetists and ensures that funds are used effectively to develop this vital area of healthcare.
