Plain-language change summary

The latest version of House Bill 2993 now focuses on funding for the Department of Public Safety. It includes a provision to allocate $6.4 million for the fiscal year 2025-2026, up from an earlier allocation of $5 million intended for the peace officers' training fund for 2026-2027. This change is significant because it directs more resources to the Department of Public Safety, which could enhance public safety initiatives and support training for law enforcement.
