The amendments to Bill HB 2838 removed the requirement for participating public schools to offer specific educational options like concurrent enrollment courses, industry-recognized credentials, or youth apprenticeships. Instead, the focus is now solely on administering a pilot program and establishing an advisory committee of up to seven members to oversee it. This change matters because it simplifies the program’s requirements for schools, potentially making it easier for them to participate, but it may reduce the range of educational opportunities available to students.
