Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 1424 adds a section that specifies questions regarding gun ownership and storage practices of students and their families will no longer be included. Additionally, it emphasizes that the instruction provided in schools must remain unbiased, neither promoting nor discouraging firearm ownership. This change is important because it aims to create a neutral educational environment that informs students about firearm safety without taking a political stance, which can help ensure all families feel included and respected within the school setting.
