The recent changes to Senate Bill 247 included updates to the definitions and penalties concerning harassment and sexual offenses against minors. Specifically, terms around "electronic communication" were clarified to address harassment more effectively, while details on various types of sexual abuse offenses, particularly those relating to minors, were defined more clearly. These amendments are important as they aim to better protect vulnerable populations, like children, and ensure that harassment laws are precise and applicable in today's digital landscape.
