Plain-language change summary

In the revised version of SB 1149, specific wording around how courts determine a child's dependency status has been clarified and streamlined. The changes also include the introduction of a requirement for periodic review hearings by the Department of Child Services (DCS). These adjustments are important because they aim to provide clearer guidelines for courts, which can help ensure that decisions about children's safety and welfare are made more consistently and transparently. This could lead to better outcomes for children involved in dependency cases.
