The new version of SB 235 changes the rules regarding automated traffic safety cameras by stating that all municipalities in the state cannot ban their use, rather than just those with populations of 25,000 or more. This means that smaller towns and cities, previously able to impose such bans, will now also be required to allow these cameras. This change is important because it aims to enhance road safety by ensuring consistent enforcement of traffic laws across all municipalities.
