The bill SB 1164 was amended to clarify that nursing facilities or assisted living facilities with new ownership can request continued processing of claims for services under the previous owner's Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System number, rather than using the term "certification number." Additionally, it now specifies that either the current or new owner must provide written notice to the administration at least 60 days before a change in ownership and respond to enrollment requests within 10 business days. These changes matter because they ensure continuity of care and payment during ownership transitions, making the process clearer and more efficient for providers and the administration.
