Plain-language change summary

In the latest version of SB 204, the requirement that school board members could only be employed as substitute teachers under emergency circumstances has been removed. Now, school board members can work as substitute teachers at any time. This change matters because it allows for greater flexibility in staffing schools, potentially helping to address teacher shortages while also allowing board members to contribute directly to the classroom when needed. Additionally, the disqualification criteria for school board members concerning past felonies have been clarified, providing a clearer foundation for eligibility.
