The updated version of SB 1569 now allows special election board members to update voter registration information for qualified electors they assist during elections. However, they are still prohibited from registering new voters or making changes for anyone else at that location. This change is significant because it aims to ensure that voters have accurate registration details while maintaining strict limits on the role of election board members, which could enhance the integrity of the election process.
