The amendments to SB 147 removed the specific exclusion preventing pharmacists from prescribing abortion-inducing drugs as part of their patient care services. This change allows pharmacists greater flexibility in their practice, which could enhance access to reproductive health services. Additionally, the bill reinforces the need for pharmacists to recognize their limitations in training and education, ensuring they consult with other healthcare providers when necessary, which helps to promote patient safety and comprehensive care.
