Plain-language change summary

In the latest version of House Bill 250, several changes were made regarding the conditions under which peace officers can wear masks and other protective gear. The requirement of having a court order or supervisor authorization for undercover assignments was removed. Additionally, while the previous draft allowed various types of masks and protective gear for different situations, the current version simplifies this by indicating only a few specific items such as shields and medical or smoke masks. This amendment is important because it clarifies the rules for peace officers, potentially making it easier for them to protect themselves while ensuring public safety.
