The amendment to bill SB 1630 adds specifications for transporting students in vehicles designed for larger groups, including those that can carry between 11 to 15 passengers, while also maintaining safety standards established by the Department of Public Safety. This change matters because it clarifies the types of vehicles that can be used for transporting students, potentially expanding options for school districts and enhancing safety regulations. Additionally, it ensures that transportation support levels are calculated based on updated rules, which could affect funding and resources for student transport.
