Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 1359 now requires that employees, contractors, and volunteers who work with elections establish new unique passwords every two weeks, but it specifies that this rule does not apply to pollworkers using electronic pollbooks in the 30 days leading up to an election. Additionally, the language was clarified to state that knowingly violating this requirement is a misdemeanor. This matters because it aims to enhance security for election workers while recognizing the specific needs of pollworkers during busy election periods.
