Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill HB 125 has made changes to the qualifications for members of the Board of Fisheries. Previously, the bill specified that appointees should have knowledge and experience in their respective fishing areas, but the new version emphasizes the importance of simply representing those areas, which broadens the potential pool of candidates. This change matters because it may lead to a more diverse array of voices and perspectives on the Board, encouraging more equitable representation of various fishing interests in the state's decision-making processes.
