The amendments made to House Bill 74 strengthen regulations against selling or installing nonfunctioning or counterfeit airbags in vehicles. Key changes include expanding the definition of prohibited actions to include knowingly selling vehicles with noncompliant or fake airbags, along with clarifying exemptions for certain individuals, such as police vehicle installers and vehicle dealership employees who are unaware of the issues. These adjustments aim to enhance vehicle safety and protect consumers from potentially dangerous fraud related to airbags.
