Plain-language change summary

The amended version of House Bill 34 increases the size of the council from 12 to 19 members, expanding its composition to include more representatives from various sectors. It also shifts the focus from “emerging industry operations” to “traded sector industry operations,” emphasizing a broader range of business expertise. This change matters because a larger and more diverse council can better address the needs of Alaska's economy and foster stronger connections between government and local businesses.
