Plain-language change summary

The updated version of House Bill 2913 now specifies funding allocations for child care facilities, reducing the total amount from $85 million to $51 million for the Department of Economic Security, while still maintaining a $3 million allocation for the Department of Health Services. It also clarifies that loan amounts will be determined based on the demonstrated needs of licensed facilities and their enrollment figures from February 2020. These changes aim to ensure that the financial assistance provided is more tailored to the actual needs of the facilities following the impacts of COVID-19, which is crucial for supporting child care providers during difficult times.
