The recent changes to SB 1086 clarify that funds from the hospital assessment fund cannot be used for chiropractic services. Additionally, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) will now be allowed to provide medically necessary chiropractic services as long as they meet specific conditions and provider qualifications yet to be defined. This matters because it sets the stage for how chiropractic care will be integrated into state healthcare services, ensuring that proper guidelines are followed for its delivery and oversight.
