Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to HJR 14 adds explicit support for the SAFE Banking Act and similar legislation that aims to improve financial access for cannabis-related businesses. This change is significant because it highlights Alaska's ongoing commitment to the cannabis industry, which was legalized in 2014, and underscores the state's desire for federal legislation that would facilitate legal businesses in banking and finance. This could help cannabis businesses operate more smoothly, enhancing their ability to succeed and contribute to the state's economy.
