The amendment to the bill A 5034 removes the requirement for the superintendent of the State Police to "complete, update, or renew" their basic police officer certification from the New Jersey State Police Academy. Additionally, it clarifies that the superintendent must apply for and obtain a law enforcement license only if they do not already hold an active one. This change simplifies the qualifications for the position by removing the certification renewal stipulation and adjusts the requirements for maintaining a law enforcement license.
