The revised version of Senate Bill No. 2051 updates the fees associated with licensing for private investigators and security services in North Dakota. Specifically, the maximum fees for exams, initial licenses, and renewals have increased significantly—most notably, the renewal fee for private investigators is now capped at $225, up from $150, and for security agencies, it has risen to $450 from $300. These changes are meant to better reflect the costs of regulatory oversight and ensure the private investigative and security board can effectively carry out its duties.
