The amendments to House Bill No. 1588 clarify the definition of "dangerous weapon" by changing the maximum allowable blade length for certain knives from five inches to six inches. This is significant because it expands what types of knives can be considered legal for personal use under the law. Additionally, the bill removes provisions regarding liability exemptions for public and private entities related to firearms in certain locations and the use of binary triggers, which indicates a shift in focus solely on defining dangerous weapons and their use in public settings.
