Plain-language change summary

The changes made to Bill AB 601 clarify that sports wagers conducted via mobile or electronic devices must occur on Indian lands located within Wisconsin to be exempt from being classified as a "bet." This amendment specifies that even though the wager might be placed from anywhere in the state, it must be processed through a server on tribal land within Wisconsin. This clarification matters because it reinforces the legal framework around online sports betting while ensuring that it adheres to existing agreements between the state and federally recognized tribes, potentially benefiting local economies and tribal entities.
