The latest version of House Bill 566 includes specific language clarifying cost-of-living adjustments for retirees. It allocates $100 million for both the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 fiscal years to support these adjustments, ensuring that recent retirees, specifically those who started their benefits between January and June 2023, are considered. This change is important because it directly impacts the financial support retirees receive, helping them keep pace with rising living costs.
