Plain-language change summary

In the latest version of Senate Bill 800, the proposed funding for the Justice Academy remains the same, with $250,000 designated for both recurring and nonrecurring funds. The bill now emphasizes the importance of a collaboration between the Community College System and the Justice Academy to improve access to education, reducing travel time and costs for students. Additionally, the repayment terms for loans received by recipients have been clarified, stating that they will have up to 10 years to repay, with conditions laid out for loan forgiveness. These changes aim to make the bill more effective in supporting those entering the criminal justice field and provide clearer financial guidelines for students.
