Plain-language change summary

The main change in the bill is the addition of several lines that provide a detailed description of the important role school counselors play in students' academic and personal development. This includes helping students set realistic goals, cope with challenges like bullying and mental health issues, and guiding them toward college and career readiness. This matters because it highlights the significant contributions of school counselors and emphasizes the need to support them in fostering students’ overall growth and success during "School Counseling Week," which will be recognized from February 2-6, 2026.
