The amended bill extends the sunset provision for the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection's Design-Build Program from December 31, 2025, to December 31, 2027. Additionally, it increases the maximum value of ongoing design-build projects from $50 million to $75 million. These changes matter because they allow for more substantial projects to be pursued and provide additional time for the program to assess its effectiveness before potentially being discontinued.
