Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 947 removes a scheduled increase in fees for dam permits that would have taken effect six months after the bill's approval. Previously, the fees were set to rise significantly for various dam heights. Now, the fees remain at $500, $1,000, and $3,000, depending on the dam's height, which could make it more affordable for dam owners to maintain their structures. This change matters because it prevents potential financial burdens on those responsible for dam repairs and maintenance.
