Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 992 clarifies that local departments of social services must establish written agreements with local workforce development boards to provide coordinated workforce development services for programs like SNAP. Notably, it also emphasizes that recipients cannot lose their SNAP benefits due to non-participation in these programs, which protects vulnerable individuals from potential penalties. These changes aim to streamline collaboration and safeguard access to essential benefits for those involved in workforce development initiatives.
