Plain-language change summary

The changes in the bill establish a Social Media Research Center at a four-year public institution of higher education to focus on conducting research related to social media use. The purpose of the center is to create impartial science that informs the understanding of social media's effects and promotes healthy usage. The earlier version of the bill included specific findings from the U.S. Surgeon General regarding the impacts of social media on youth mental health, but this text has been removed in the updated version. This shift places emphasis on the research center's role rather than on specific findings about social media's effects on young people.
