and Whereas, During this remarkable sports season, the state witnessed several historic victories, including the rise of Joe Louis in the professional boxing world, the Detroit Tigers winning their first World Series, the Detroit Lions securing their first Champions D 26H_HR282_AA_1 j3zy67 1 NFL championship, and the Detroit Red Wings capturing their first Champions D 26H_HR0282_INTR_1 6obqiu 1 NHL championship;
and Whereas, It is fitting and proper to honor and recognize these exceptional sporting achievements by designating April 18th as "Champions Day" in the state of Michigan, a day to celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of Joe Louis, the Detroit Tigers, the Champions D 26H_HR282_AA_1 j3zy67 1 Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Red Wings during the memorable Champions D 26H_HR0282_INTR_1 6obqiu 1 sports season of 1935;
therefore, be it Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body declare April 18, 2026, as Champions Day in Champions D 26H_HR282_AA_1 j3zy67 the state of Michigan.
We encourage the people of Michigan to Champions D 26H_HR0282_INTR_1 6obqiu commemorate the exceptional accomplishments of Joe Louis, the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Red Wings during the historic sports season of 1935.
