A resolution to declare April 10-May 10, 2026, as Youth Service Month in the state of Michigan.
and Whereas, Every year, tens of thousands of young people across Michigan demonstrate outstanding achievement in academics, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, the arts, athletics, social studies, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, volunteerism, professional experience, and public service, thereby strengthening Youth Service M 26H_HR0280_INTR_1 04qskp 1 the communities in which they live;
and Whereas, These contributions, often made quietly and without HR 280 Substitute (H-1)_HR280_AA_1 2k473o 1 expectation of reward, exemplify dedication, compassion, and leadership and deserve formal recognition by this legislative body;
and Whereas, Establishing Youth Service Month willprovides provide a formal statewide platform to honor and celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Michigan’s youth, while promoting collaboration among schools, community organizations, and government agencies;
and Whereas, It is fitting and proper that the Michigan House of Youth Service M 26H_HR0280_INTR_1 04qskp 1 Representatives affirms its commitment to encouraging all residents, institutions, and government bodies to acknowledge, celebrate, and support the accomplishments of youth in their communities;
now, therefore, be it HR 280 Substitute (H-1)_HR280_AA_1 2k473o 1 Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body declare April 10-May 10, 2026, as Youth Service Month in the state of Michigan, a month dedicated to celebrating and uplifting the extraordinary achievements and contributions of Michigan’s young people in their schools, homes, and communities;
and be it further Resolved, That copieswe ofaffirm thisour resolutioncommitment be transmitted to theencouraging Governor of Michigan, the Superintendent of Public Instruction for distribution to all schoolresidents, districtsinstitutions, in the state, and to the heads of all Michigan government departmentsbodies and agencies to encourageacknowledge, broadcelebrate, participation in Youth Service Month and tosupport ensure that the achievementsaccomplishments and contributions of youngyouth Michigandersin aretheir recognizedcommunities; across all levels of government and the educational system.
