The revision of the bill adds specific details about the economic and strategic benefits of the Selfridge Air National Guard Base, emphasizing its impact on both Michigan and national security. It highlights the base's personnel, economic contributions, and its role in enhancing air superiority and domestic security. Removing references to President Trump’s decision simplifies the language, making it less focused on individual actions and more on the broader implications for the base and community. This shift matters as it keeps the focus on the importance of the military base itself rather than the political context surrounding it.
